Dennis, your suggestion “If you do want to have both working, then use absolute
file paths“ is not a good idea, because it leads to the same issue when
documents are shared between users: /home/user1/  /home/user2/  In this case
the  hyperlinks will break again.

Markus, you said. “Everything here works as expected”. Does that means that the
Linux user has to accept that hyperlinks in LibreOffice break when shortcuts or
symlinks are used? On MS Windows LibreOffice has no such problems, here the
hyperlinks work perfectly in all cases.

In other big issue is that the user has no glue why the hyperlinks break in LO:
Visible to the users are only absolute paths even when they are stored
internally in the doc as relative paths. The user has no chance to find out the
reason of his broken hyperlinks.

So I suggest to treat this issue as it is: a bug at least for the LO users on
Linux.
