Alex,
Thanks for your reply. June 2017 was a while ago so I didn't specifically
remember "Comment 17" and didn't realize you still had unanswered questions.
However, I do understand how frustrating it can be when someone fails to
address the questions you ask in an email, so thanks for your feedback.

1. The files in my documents folder are fairly typical documents that are each
small in size and on average under a 1MB each.

EXAMPLE:

The DESKTOP folder on one of my Macs has 89 items (files and folders)
and is 79.2MB. Other software has never had a problem with this modest sized
folder,
but for some reason LibreOffice 5 does. Just for reference, OpenOffice never
had this issue, but I prefer LibreOffice.

2. As far as WHERE I'm trying to SAVE to, I'm only talking about LOCAL folders
(not LAN) that are stored on drives that are internally or externally connected
to the machine I'm using).

I hope this helps, because I want to help LibreOffice be the best office app
out there. For future reference, I may not answer all of your questions
perfectly and it may sometimes require some back and forth. I've changed the
status back to "Unconfirmed". If you need more info, just let me know and I'll
do my best to provide it.

Thanks,
Roy
