Thanks for your help. I know my hardware and software are old, so I wouldn't
want you or anyone working on LO to waste time trying to chase down a problem
if it's outdated. What you described sounds like what I have experienced, but
now that I've figured it out I can work around it.
I apologize if I missed answering yet another question you had. Regarding
"alias" or networked folders, I DO have a network, but it does not apply to
this issue. I was only using internal drives and made sure that I was NOT
trying to save to a network folder when I experienced the beach balling and had
to force quit LO each time.
Ever since MacOS Lion, I have dreaded upgrading. My 2008 Mac Pro and 2010 Mac
Mini both ran great on 10.6, but Yosemite was a downgrade for me and then I
watched later MacOS reviews continue into the toilet. If you notice now, Apple
doesn't have reviews for it's OS at the online Mac store anymore. Hmmm, wonder
why? I was fed-up before the news about them slowing down the iPhone broke.
Greed, greed and more greed. I'm actually considering going back to Windows
because for me, Macs are barely worth it any more.
I hope I was able to answer your question, but if there's anything else you'd
like to know, I'll do my best to help. Just be patient if I takes me some time.
Regarding STATUS of this bug, please mark it however you wish. I was't sure
what to put. It's not technically "resolved", but I agree that there's nothing
further to do here.

2. I wish the world ran on Linux, but if I want access to mainstream software,
it's either Mac or Windows. I would love to hear any thoughts and advice you
might have on this. (What do you use and why?)
