Subject: Lost my Ir port

Hello gentlemen. (and ladies?)

I finally took the plunge and picked up a Libretto 110ct. It actually found
me a couple of weeks ago -as soon as I saw it I said "I'll take it" to my
friend who runs the shop. Not 2 minutes later a fellow was looking over my
shoulder saying "I'd buy one of those if there was one that runs normal
Windows". I could't help beaming as I gave him the specs. :-) Big step up
from all those past small computers.

Anyway, what leads me to write is my first problem.  Everything was fine;
perfect really. Untill my need to install CounterPoints QuickBeam suite, in
order to attempt to have OBEX compatibility on the Ir port. Naturally it
wanted to remove all my Windows Ir drivers, and naturally I started having
second thoughts a little too late. Now I have no mention of the Ir port
anywhere*. Not in the BIOS, not in Control Panel.

I downloaded 780fir98.exe from Toshiba and no dice. Just a poor "generic ir
serial" that doesn't even have real resources.

I have also updated the BIOS from 7.3 (7.4?) to 8.0 with no change.

ANY suggestions would be appreciated before I reload from the recovery CD.

Thanks, and thanks for all the good info I've picked up here that got me
into this Libretto.

Chris
