Subject: How To Get Win95 etc. on my prospective L70 Hard Drive Upgrade?
My L70 hard drive has apparently developed an annoying whining noise.
Shaking it around doesn't help, and I'm afraid to spritz it with wd40(!).
I bought my L70 over a year ago, so the warranty has apparently expired.
But, by chance is the hard drive covered under a longer warranty? I
notice when you buy a *replacement* hard drive it generally comes with a
3-year warranty...
If not, then I think I might replace the hard drive with a new quiet one.
But one problem is, I assume a new hard drive comes *blank*, whereas the
new lib70 contained win95 and all sorts of other lovely things installed
on it.
So, how would I get all those lovely things onto my new hard drive? This
issue must come up all the time, yet I haven't noticed anyone talking
about it here. Everything on my hard drive under "c:\" is copied onto
cd-roms, but perhaps that's not the same thing as installing from
scratch...
