Hi MW,
Yes, I would have considered Star Office.
However, 90% of my Office suite usage is for
viewing/editing documents I need for work.
Despite the increased in compatibility
between the two Office suites, they are still
not entirely compatible....formatting will
still go haywire. I have tried it out with
many MS Office documents I have....they don't
look good in Star Office. Same for the other
way round. This is the main reason
MS Office is still needed for me.
I can't let my colleagues think that I am
incompetent enough to even format a simple
Word or Excel document nicely, right? :)
