Subject: RE: Dynamism Libretto 1100v Offer - Buyer Beware!
As a followup to my own post:
I received an email from Douglas at Dynamism last night apologizing for the
problems that I have with the hard disk and controller. Like I said in my
post, they offered to replace the battery with a new one after some
wrangling so it's their hope that that mitigated that problem - they still
claim that the gouge wasn't caused by them (though I'm sure that it
certainly wasn't caused by my actions - I'm a little anal about my
equipment).
I'm hoping that this final go-around with the repairs solves all of my
problems, and if it does, then I'll be sure to post here to let everyone
know that things have gone well.
As a fellow eBay'r, I followed the auctions that were posted about and
noticed what that fellow listed commented on - that a Dynamism rep had
outbid everyone on some 1100v auctions that were their own. My inquiries
with Dynamism on that revealed that one hand didn't know what the other was
doing and those auctions were posted without actual stock on the 1100v's
(one rep thought there were more to sell when in actuality they had been
sold by another rep off eBay). This has happened even to me, so I think that
they could be let off the hook on that one. The one rule they didn't follow,
was that after they had outbid on their own items, they didn't immediately
close the auctions and left them open for more than a day after their bids -
something that has put them on eBay's 'watch list'. I'd assume that if they
participate on eBay again, they'll follow through on their auctions because
if there's another problem, they'll be stricken from the site - and eBay is
a great place to sell items.
In any event, please understand that it is my hope that this last round of
problems I've had are truly going to be solved and I'll be able to report to
you all that you can feel confident that Dynamism will do the right thing by
you in the event of any problems. The Internet is a powerful place when it
comes to the freedom of it's constituents to speak freely on companies and
their practices - and I'm sure that Dynamism knows that. This list is only a
small corner of the universe - and should they continue to do business in a
less-than-customer-first way, their business will suffer greatly.
Conversely, should they be customer-first oriented, surely those of us that
are their customers can heartily recommend them to future customers with all
of the power that the internet can bring to bear.
