Subject: RE: Microsoft could not resolve my problem!
Firstly my drive is not partitioned.
Secondly I would like to install Win98SE but got the impression it was far too
complicated and resorted to the easier route. Maybe if someone can literally give an
idiot's guide to re-formatting and installing Win98 (assuming I go buy a Win98SE cd
rom from somewhere) and advise how I sort the other issues out such as the utilities
and other Libretto setting-up issues I would take the plunge (for example I have NEVER
been into my system bios before - so the more simplistic explanations the better...
also I am not experienced with MSDOS commands).
If I can get an authoritative answer here I promise I will find a way of printing it
off and keeping it as a permanent reference - i.e. not do what I did when I was in a
complete panic when reinstalling Win95 and lost all of the postings that you kind
folks sent me before.
George
P.S. I cannot believe how hopeless Microsoft's Assisted Support are... one phone call
(which I made at my expense... yes it was a long phone call at national rate) - some
basic checking of Outlook program files and 5 days later they concluded they could not
resolve the problem... then had the nerve to try to charge me 45 + VAT. I made an
issue of it and got a refund but overall I am deeply disappointed - my perception of
Microsoft as the font of all knowledge regards their own products was obviously deeply
misguided.
