I've had to use DCC (unfortunately, before ethernet connections) many a time 
over the years to get files from one system to another.  Your list should 
prove most useful if, God forbid, I ever have to use it again.

My experiences with it have shown it to be extremely buggy, even when 
everything had been set up, and had been working at one point.  There have 
times where I've entered the name of the host system some 5-6 or more times 
into the window prompting for it before Windows would finally decide to take 
the information and connect me.  Perhaps this had something to the IPX/SPX 
setup you say DCC had problems without... as I don't think I ever had 
installed that (or known much about before some kids wanted to run some 
games).

But I wonder how many other people have had the same frustrations trying to 
enter a system name several times into a DCC prompt before it was accepted.
