RedHat runs perfectly on my Libretto 100CT, even with its non-standard 800 x
480 resolution. Did you try using XFree86 4.0.1 (i.e. not the distribution
from the CD)? I highly customized most aspects of my system to fit in the
limited capacity of my Libby, but it runs much better than Windows ever did.
I'm still not happy with it, and I'm going to wipe my drive and put
slackware on it for better customization.
You do know that X-windows is extremely slow and memory intensive when you
pile something like GNOME or KDE on top of it, right? I have 64 MB of RAM,
and I still find myself uncomfortably close to living out of swap space when
I launch AbiWord. I just use WindowMaker to cut down on overhead.
I haven't been following your messages, but what are the specific errors you
are getting from the X server?
