Which reminds me ... perhaps someone can answer this, why is it that LCD manufacturers make the backing of their LCDs BLACK instead of reflective? The LCD itself is transmissive and the 'backlight' is really a side/bottomlight anyway so you'd think making it WHITE would make more sense, letting the screen be reflective when the external lighting was bright enough but still being backlit in the absence of reflectable light.
