>Yoo there, >First of all, I assume you are talking here about the Libretto 70CT?? Actually, I'm talking based on my (limited) experience with the 50CT but I'm assuming the keyboard is identical to at least the 70CT. I'm also talking about the numeric keypad overlay (the keys that would map to the number pad on a full sized keyboard). Thats because the numbers on the numeric keypad, whilst often producing the same results as the numbers across the top of the keyboard, actually transmit different scancodes. Ditto for the + and - keys - most programs treat them as the same as the keys next to BACKSPACE but in fact the computer does register them as different keys and some programs (such as the resolution switcher in X) only work with the numeric keypad. As a result, even on a full sized keyboard, pressing Ctrl-Alt-Shift-= (ie. using the + key on the shifted = next to BACKSPACE) won't do a thing, you have to press Ctrl-Alt-+ with the + being the key between the - and ENTER keys on the far right of the keyboard. In the Libretto's case, THIS + key is mapped to Fn-; (since obviously it doesn't have ROOM for the numeric keypad to have keys of its own). Phew! Does that help? :-) - Raymond P.S. I dunno about UK keyboards but every US layout QWERTY keyboard I've ever seen also has + and = on the same key. ************************************************************** http://libretto.basiclink.com - Libretto mailing list http://libretto.basiclink.com/archive - Archives http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/portable/faq.html - FAQ -------TO UNSUBSCRIBE------- Reply to any of the list messages.
