Pin one on the cable *should* have a coloured trace but check that back to the motherboard :). Pin one on the 2.5" drive is end nearest the four pins sitting on their own (they're the master/slave/cs jumpers) and at the other end of the adaptor are the power leads - five volts and ground. Ground is on the row of pins that is nearest the casing of the drive, five volts is on the pcb side.
