As you say, pin 1 is next to the master / slave on the drive and I was 'reasonably' ok with that. The converter on the other hand had no markings and as I've now been told, the power connector (on 'flying' red/black wires to a Molex Female) is at the opposite end to 'normal'? There was a missing pin on the std 40W IDC plug that gave me the orientation for that. It all plugged in and worked first time but it's better to be safe than sorry? All the best ..
