I've seen a $500 difference on ebay and in other markets, I've even seen
70ct's go for /more/ than 100ct's. Why? Demand and interest. It varies. I've
gotten a lot of people wanting a lot more money than I was offering. The
biggest, $400. Shoot, I can /buy/ a 100ct for $400 and have two librettos!
I hate to say it, but there was a day when there was a true $300
difference, but as computer equip get's dated, it looses value. I had two
thinkpads, I forget the model #s right offhand, but one was better than the
other, more ram, HD, faster cpu, etc. P-75 vs P-133. The difference on teh
open market? $40.
Prices drop, laptops loose their value, and I don't have any more money
than $100. I'm broke, unemployed, and using my libretto now to access the
internet as I sold off my desktop computer. I haven't even been able to afford
a ram upgrade for this blasted thing. I got a ram upgrade off of this list to
upgrade a 100ct I was about to get, deal fell through and owner thought it was
really worth $1000. So, I sold off teh ram on ebay, at a loss. Every time I
try to improve my life, nothing works. I loose money or property.
I'm facing eviction soon because a new owner of my apartment complex
bought th ebuilding and decided to sell it all off as condos. To get me to
move, jack up teh rent to $2500 / mo. I have no place to go to, except for to
move in with my parents in Seattle. I'm liquidating all of my property,
throwing stuff away in teh Safeway dumpster at 2am, etc, etc.
I have had nothing good happen in my life in teh past 3 months, I have
had my Compaq 233 laptop stolen from a Starbucks (set it next to my seat,
reached for it 30 seconds later, it was gone) loosing my apartment, and
loosing my health. Was sick for a week and no aparrent virus or bacteria or
anything. I can't even afford to have two cavities filled.
Now that I have the money from some ebay sales of old computer gear that
I might as well get a better libretto as this'll be my computer for all
computer use for the next couple years.
Guess I wasted my time.
