Subject: RE: [LIB] downgrade your L100 / L110 for $$$$$

Well, since everyone thinks that their librettos are worth more than they
really are because they haven't checked /today's/ prices, I think I'll just
spend my money on something more practical and no longer offer this unit. Same
deal, this time $100, until Sunday. Then the money will no longer be
available, so if anyone's interested, now or never.
I'm quite disamyed by the subscribers on this list. I've gotten a lot of
emails saying I was on crack and that I should offer more money. Well, with a
L100 going for about $450 on ebay, one guy suggested I offer $500 for the
downgrade. If I had that much money, I'd buy one of the ones on ebay and keep
this 70ct as a spare!!!
     I tell people that a 70ct is worth about $350 and a 100ct about $450
based on ebay prices. But people emailed me saying things like "Well, I saw a
110ct in teh newspaper for $900. (that must mean they're worth that)" No, it
means that that guy is selling it for that much, try calling him and seeing if
he still has it. If he still has it, that means no one's interested in paying
that price and that means it's not worth $900.
Same thing with online stores. "Yeah, we still have Libretto 100ct's for
$800. We haven't sold one in over a year, so I guess the craze is over with,
but you can still get them from us for what we have them listed for on our
website, $800."
Ebay is a good place to see how much things like librettos are worth by
checking to see not how much people are /asking/, but how much people are
/willing/ to pay, and what people are willing to pay is what it's really
worth.
     I've seen a $100 price difference, so that's what I feel it's worth.
Plus, you get to keep your old HD, so you don't loose any space or have to
re-install programs. All you have to do is update a few drivers here and
there. Easier done than said.
Oh yeah, and the floppy drive is included too. And I identified this 56k
modem (thanks to the only helpful person I found on this list throught this
whole ordeal). It's made by Falcon or Eagle tech (I forget the name exactly, I
just woke up 10 minutes ago, and system properties doesn't say anything except
for "PCMCIA 56k v.90 Modem") and have sucessfully installed the INF file to
get it working. I just need to find a cable now, which I'll do at a swap meet
Saturday.
