I'd be interested in the condition (eg. missing pixels, etc.), what it came with and how much they charged for postage and handling. Thats why I jumped on the L100 that was offered here in the paper for $875AUD (thats Australian dollars, about $440USD, his STARTING price was $1200AUD, it took him a week to figure out that no-one would buy it for that price though) because although it had no floppy or port replicator, it was also in pristine condition although the APR it DID come with had a blown PCMCIA socket. (I'm PRETTY sure it wasn't hot, the guy had the manuals and a reasonable explanation). It also required no postage and handling (although if you're already in the US I guess thats a somewhat moot point). > I tell people that a 70ct is worth about $350 and a 100ct about $450 >based on ebay prices. Based on what I've seen of prices, both eBay and elsewhere, $500AUD ($250USD) is about right for an L50 WITHOUT accessories and about $800AUD ($400USD) is about right for an L100 WITHOUT accessories. Adjust prices for accessories (floppy, docking bar, HDD, etc.), shipping and handling and so-on as you see fit (for instance I've factored in a partially fried L100 APR as being worth about $75AUD or $37USD). >But people emailed me saying things like "Well, I saw a >110ct in teh newspaper for $900. (that must mean they're worth that)" If you're making reference to the email I posted with about that value, notice I put AUD (Australian dollars) after it, then I put the USD (US dollar) price which is about half that due to the lousy exchange rate (don't even get me started!). > Ebay is a good place to see how much things like librettos are worth by >checking to see not how much people are /asking/, but how much people are >/willing/ to pay, and what people are willing to pay is what it's really >worth. Check out all the closed auctions where L100/L110's have gone for far MORE than the lowest price. It really is the luck of the draw, you have to be REALLY lucky to get the lowest closing prices. If you want those, you might as well sell your L70 on eBay and then buy a L100 on eBay. Think about your target audience ... I don't think many people HERE would be willing to downgrade their libbys in the first place but you may find a more receptive audience if you don't try to sell your L70 to the same person that you're buying the L100 off. Certainly I wouldn't for that sorta money (it cost me almost $400AUD or $200USD to upgrade from my L50 to this L100 2 months ago and THEN I still have to find a hard drive, floppy drive and docking bar because the L100 didn't come with the latter 2 and the buyer of the L50 wouldn't buy it with the 700 meg hard drive so I had to throw in the former). > I've seen a $100 price difference, so that's what I feel it's worth. If thats the case, stick to eBay. We're just trying to be realistic here and give our estimates of what it would take to prise us away from our L100/L110's in the first place.
