I had it last year before they moved to the faster network, so it was like surfing on a 19.2KB modem all around (albeit with compression, a bit faster than that). Today, they're on the fast rates like any 56Kb modem, so there's no difference. Still, I had far too much fun on the free service, and it was a wonder to go everywhere and still be online. Sadly, any wireless net plan I get would have to be 100% unlimited since I'd gobble up far more minutes than any 'reasonable' plan would - just so little time, so much to download and surf ,) (If they had something for online abuse, you've got the right person!) Anyways, still contemplating it all since I've recently got one of those Virgin Mobile cell phones (then gobbled up 700+ minutes in less than one month!), so clearly, I've got to stop talking and surfing, or simply give in and get a 100% unlimited plan.... Just too bad the FCC is so against home users wiring up their own local area wireless lans! Heck, I could imaging sticking a powerful broadcast tower on the roof and simply doing 802.* or whatever miles from home =) Of course, frying the birds with all that radiation might not be so good.... --- But I think that with the advent of cheaper cable/dsl to every home, you could imagine 'neighborhood' wireless nets where everyone cruising around could be online w/o having to do anything at all... Anyways, wahhhh!
