PostScriptum to #36: interestingly, the setting of setstrokeadjust does
_not_ make a difference for the second screenshot (even with
setstrokeadjust explicitly false, the beams stick out in the same manner).
It would appear that for Evince the difference between stroking a line and
stroking and filling an outline is sufficient to trigger the difference in
behavior for stem thickness.
