Regarding comment #32: I was trying to work out how to do some automated
screenshots of previewer rendering.
Alas, Evince developers are very proud that they do everything right
automatically and don't offer command line arguments for specifying zoom
factor or similar, ignore the layout suggestions in the PDF (if present),
and once you opened one document, it will record the settings with which it
has been opened and not apply any default settings (configurable with
gsettings which would be scriptable) to it any more.
So it's pretty hard to do the kind of automated comparison that is (quite
conveniently) provided by scripts/auxiliar/make-regtest-pngs.sh.
Pity.
