Here are some musings regarding the spacing of the flats in chord names:
this can't really be sensibly returned entirely to the previous spacing
since the "kerning" is done using \hspace, and \hspace does not follow font
size changes. So corrections will not work at all sizes. Yes, one could
factor font-size into a variable kerning expression, but at some point of
time things start getting silly. Frankly, the current spacing of
accidental is awful already, so trying to copy it slavishly is rather
pointless. At least the absolute amount of correction needed has gone done
quite a bit, so the size-dependency becomes less apparent.
