This sounds perfect for those who travel out of the States frequently, but I don’t. I have wifi enabled on my phone at all times but I still have dead spots in the house.

I too use a Google Fi phone. If you travel internationally, Verizon wants $10/day to switch to an interntional roaming service. If you are gone 20 days, that’s obviously a $200 cell phone bill, on top of whatever you were paying per month. Google Fi first seeks out a wifi contact and then makes wifi phone calls. My average monthly bill around home is USD $24-28. When travelling, assuming people call me while I in a car and there was no wifi, my bill for that month might be $35-40 total – for the month. So you land at the Frankfort Airport, attach yourself to the Airport wifi, and, with no further ado, you are reachable and can reach out immediately at no extra charge. Do all the business you want from your hotel room in Paris on the hotel wifi – no extra charge. Und so fort. Very handy in places like Talinn or Tel Aviv, where wifi is ubiquitous. I use Google Fi Wireless <https://fi.google.com/about?pli=1> which piggybacks off other networks -- it is very affordable and works pretty well in Lincoln though I do hit dead spots on Baker Bridge. If you have an iPhone there are some additional steps to set up your phone, but their customer service via chat or phone is very good. Big plus if you travel a lot is that data works internationally with no extra steps or charges. How do you rate T-Mobile’s customer service, especially being able to get through to a human when you call. I’m too old and grumpy to tolerate Verizon’s legendary wait times. Thanks. Hi Matina, We also had significant cell service issues in Lincoln with Verizon and switched to T-Mobile. The coverage is much better at the house, but still has gaps in some areas of town. The T-Mobile plans ended up being less expensive and also included a number of added benefits, including hot spot service and included free Netflix as well as a few other services. Also available was a home internet account as an add-on for $30.00 per month. Scott _________________________________ Scott L.
