Hi Nik,

I have used the cXtra Treeview on several occasions in the last year, I
have quite a few of their xtras. Unfortunately I have not used the
other tree xtra mentioned, so I cannot make a decent comparison but just
a few points:

1. It is quite powerful, and has a lot of functionality.
2. I really like being able to change the images for any of the nodes or
folders in the tree (you can even build in your own roll over and
selected node images).
3. The developers are French, and therefore, it can be tricky sometimes
debugging (error messages at run time tend to be in French - although
error messages are rare).
4. I use drag and drop quite a bit within the tree, but I haven't
dragged outside the tree widget.
5. Just like mentioned by the others about the other xtra, it doesn't
strictly follow the Lingo code format.
6. It can be quirky, and takes a bit of getting used to, just like the
other xtra.
7. Using the support forum, help is usually quick and on target, and
they often add user requested functionality improvements or amendments
at reasonably short notice.
8. Although the user docs are in English, the developers native language
is French, bear this in mind when writing code for functions, as just
occasionally their translations seem to miss out useful tips.

Overall, the above sounds quite negative, but its not meant to, I really
like the xtras and what they can do, I use them a lot, the above list is
just small things to look out for really. And check the support forums
out for useful tips that seem to crop up in support requests from other
users.

Hope this helps in some way.

Tim

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your advice! Currently I am giving cXtra TreeView a test run,
and later in teh daty I'll get to the Broadband one! I guess the reason
why I plimped for the cXtra one is that it seems to have drag-&_drop
built in. Have you used that before?

Take care,

Nik
