Sorry about that - it wasn't the list server, it was my email.
I've been using Eudora since 1995 or so, and it finally went belly up. At the beginning of the year, I managed to lose the last 18 month's worth of emails (and I have nearly 10 years of email on that thing). I started to move to Mozilla Thunderbird, but I couldn't configure it the way I wanted to, so I went back to Eudora and just decided to live with it. Email problems have plagued me since the beginning of the year - I must have maxed it out, I guess.
On Tuesday, suddenly Eudora started crashing upon startup - no amount of reboots would fix it, and I couldn't seem to trap the error. Finally I decided the heck with it (there are a lot of things I like about Eudora, but it has a few facets I can't stand), but I can't afford to be losing email like that.
So I officially moved everything, such as it was, to Thunderbird, although I have since lost the email from the first 5 months of the year - everything before Tuesday has evaporated. I didn't quite set Thunderbird up exactly right, and my whole outbox was moved to an "Unsent Messages" list; when I exited another time, it told me I had messages in my unsent messages list, and should it send them? I clicked okay, and gave it a few seconds before realizing I hadn't written anything, so I cancelled. However in the meantime it had started sending out messages in my "unsent messages" box, which is basically my whole original outbox, starting with the oldest mail, which is the stuff from 1995 to 1997.
It took me a few moments to figure it out too. Sorry about that! I don't think too many escaped - only one person wrote back, and that was to advise me that my server was a little slow. :)
