On Tuesday, suddenly Eudora started crashing upon startup - no amount of reboots would fix it, and I couldn't seem to trap the error. Finally I decided the heck with it (there are a lot of things I like about Eudora, but it has a few facets I can't stand), but I can't afford to be losing email like that.

I was a hardcore eudora user for many, many years.
but eudora started to make problems recently, corrupted mailboxes and the like, crashes and slowdown etc. and I don't have ten years of mail in my eudora boxes, but I rather do clean them up once a year and put mail, which is older than 3 years in a mail archiv, which doesn't get loaded by default. somehow I get the feeling, it doesn't play very well with OSX. somehow I am starting to give cocoa apps the preference over carbon ones, so I switched to mail.app now, which despite of the stupid name and some other little quirks does work fine and is very well integrated in the system. I have never thought I would switch from eudora to mail.app, but those are the times.
