Are you creating your text files on Mac OS X with TextEdit?
I was.
In line with
Unix applications this uses linefeed characters for new lines.
I was suspecting that, so I tried creating a text file with BBEdit under
Classic. Still reads in as linefeeds.
Have you noticed the new FileIO method in DMX 2004:
