What I really want is... There's a way to do a silent install of the
shockwave director plugin? Or my destine will be been spanked by the client
because I didn't developed in Flash?!?!? :D

if it is for 'offline' use -> intranet install, you can use an offline installer without all this crap. if it is for online use, you're out of luck and won't be able to use director/shockwave. that huge damage to the shockwave platform is appearantly by macromedias purpose as we are pointing this problem out for ages now and all what happened was the introduction of that yahoo crap to make it even worse. Ok, to be fair, another thing also happened, the before mentioned offline corporate offline license of the installer was introduced, but that doesn't help for online deployment.

Just forget about macromedia and shockwave, they appearantly don't want us to use shockwave/director, but switch to flash instead.

It is a sad story for a great technology, which gets spurned by its owner for many years now.

Sorry, for the ones, who don't like to read this rant from me AGAIN, but I am really, really pissed by the behavior macromedia is showing. The resources for director development apparently were diminished the last couple of years, while keeping the same price for the package and keeping the same restrictive, proprietary, short-sighted policy. I feel fooled by the company, which I used to trust and build my business on their products.

I mean, if they are not anymore interested in shockwave/director, they should at least leave the crap out of the installer and stop trying to squeeze the last dime out of the product, if they don't want to invest in the product anymore. They could instead earn some more money if they would allow us to actually use the product for online delivery. The only reason I can figure, is that they want to harm shockwave/director in favour of flash. I don't think, that is a good way to get us to switch to flash. I for one won't use another product of this company. (despite the fact, that I can't for any longer, as macromedia will be gone anyway in a short term)

Excuse the rant, esp. Tom, as I can guess, that he must be tired of reading these kind of statements from my part, but they are not meant at him personally as I do very much appreciate and acknowledge the fact, that he is in fact working hard to satisfy our needs, but the one thing I learned from my past experience with macromedia, is that things only changed upon public pressure, MASSIVE public pressure, as we learned from that stupid shockmachine thingie.
