Alex,
these URLs where people can install the SW player silently are kept
secret I guess ?
The URLs are in fact kept a bit private, they are for the client/project
only and we do detection of referrers to ensure that others don't point
into someone else's silent install proces. This is usually sought after
by the folks arranging the alternate experience as they often either pay
money or go through quite a bit of hassle to get it and are thus
resistant to giving that away to others for free.
The image of the filthy, foul-smelling street-person who says, "Gimme a
quarter, an' I won't touch you.", springs to mind. Dunno why.
I miss the day when the Shockwave plug-in _came_ with Netscape.
I felt supported then. Encouraged even.
