The ironic thing is that in the past, when we've posed the question back to
our client. "In what way, would you like this project to be compliant and do
you currently have any examples of an application running on your system
that IS SCORM compliant at this time?" We've always gotten, "well no" or "we
don't know", or the best answer is "we don't really know WHAT SCORM
compliancy is".

My personal favorite was building a complete eLearning program (html,
Flash-based), hand it off to their IT department. It was to run under the
control of their LMS, but since we weren't doing any tracking of data that
had to be reported back that LMS (that's always a pain), we where told that
our app was AICC/SCORM compliant. News to us. :)

Basically, because it was modular, could be dropped in any directory,
called/launched by the LMS and we returned control when the program was
done, back to the LMS. That was ALL the compliancy they required.

My point being there are MANY different levels of compliancy and sometimes
the client is just responding to the buzz words they've heard, but don't
know to what degree you may or may not have to change your program to meet
their requirment, if any.

GET THEM TO CLARIFY their needs, before you give yourself an ulcer that may
NOT be needed.

Best of luck,
John
