Well, from the nightboy's last post it looks like he's doing far more 
than is reasonable within the laws of physics, but there was a 
question that came up about whether the video board might be the 
problem. That got me thinking about using the video boards abilities 
to help the cause. So, what you see there is five planes in 3D, with 
each one textured with a #rgba8888 #high quality image. The 3D video 
takes care of making the rotation look correct, and there's no 
processor overhead, other than setting five rotation vectors per 
frame.
