There is, but its appearance changes depending on what particular
thing you've selected for property inspection, of course, so when
you're looking at a behavior in the PI, it will appear different than
when you are looking at movie properties.

Huh. Are you using a Library Palette behavior for this, or something
you got from someplace else? If you haven't tried the library
behavior, try it instead.

On a mailing list from the other side of the planet, possibly.

Generally yes. But the lower the quality of the images too.

When I uploaded it, I believe it was, yes.

Arg. that's another fontmap issue. I thought I'd gotten them all.
It's annoying but doesn't represent anything like a serious error
condition.

Sometimes you want to initialize conditions, and that's a good place
to do it if you're setting up general parameters.

Many things. Visible/nonvisible sprites are best handled using
behaviors. StartMovie would be for program-wide stuff, rather than
specifics such as individual sprite things.
Actually I've gotten to the point that I don't use movie scripts at
all any more, but that's almost a philosophical thing as much as it
is an issue of programming approach.
What I'm saying is that Director is very flexible and there are
usually several different ways -- all equally workable -- to get any
one task done.

Well, you could try writing your concerns on paper napkins and
flushing them down the toilet instead. The point there was to give a
bit of a pep talk. Too many times we start things with unfortunate
preconceptions about how difficult they're going to be, and that
turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
