the Readme's have mentioned it & there's Tech Notes & I've mentioned 
it on this list several times.
It IS a really stupid gotcha.
It's a legacy of SWA being one of the first Xtras.
Sorry it bit you.

TIP:
   Since d8, if you Insert or Import a member that needs an Xtra (or 
more), those  Xtras will automatically be added to that movie's Xtras 
list (shown in Modify > Movie > Xtra).
   Knowing this, one can find out which Xtras needed for each of the 
member-driven Xtras:
   In a new movie, clear the Xtra list, then Insert one of the member 
types you are interested in knowing the Xtras for, then examine the 
Xtra list again.
