so you are doing a project for a client, you are getting paid for it &
you have to deliver the source code to them at the end. but you want
to make it difficult for them to use it for anything else OR to modify
it for their own purposes or even to maintain it in a normal manner?
is this correct?

well, if I were the client & I got code from a contractor that had
that done to it, I would never use them again! stuff like this does
not make for good client/contractor relations. I do everything I can
do to give the client whatever they want and they almost always come
back. I have become even more client friendly with the current state
of the economy.

but hey, do whatever you want... it's just my 2 cents.
