unfortunetely, i have been burned in the past from clients that have requested source code, under the guise of "local backup", and have seen my scripts/objects/code(that i spent months developing and optimising) wind up in their next projects.. maybe its my own fault for commenting code extensivly, but it is necessary for other developers here to be able to modify my scripts.
I guess i am in the minority in thinking that our work is equated to ,say, a photograpers; in that you grant rights to the client to use the image, but you do not give them the negatives. > so you are doing a project for a client, you are getting paid for it & > you have to deliver the source code to them at the end. but you want > to make it difficult for them to use it for anything else OR to modify > it for their own purposes or even to maintain it in a normal manner? > is this correct? > > well, if I were the client & I got code from a contractor that had > that done to it, I would never use them again! stuff like this does > not make for good client/contractor relations.
