The Australian government ordered 50 million doses of AstraZeneca from CSL. The surplus is being sent to countries in the region.
But we could use more of it in Australia, if we could convince the population it is worth the risk.
When you look at the figures, it's really 40-50 year olds that have the most risk of clotting, then 50-60s. Everyone else has about
the same risk.

But the government still should have ordered several different vaccines a long
time ago. They had two jobs.
Don't we need to record who's been vaccinated? ...
A record of who was vaccinated is needed, but the patient doesn't need to fill in any paperwork for that, as they have already
entered their details when they booked. They just need to identify themselves, so the staff can find their record and add details of
which batch of vaccine they got.
I just rang to get mine and was booked in, I don't recall filling in any paperwork. When I got there they had all my details,
twelve weeks later, a couple of days after I got my second shot, Medicare had all the details, even though I opted out of MHR.
