In an ideal and egalitarian Australia, one might be defined as elite based almost entirely on earned income, and those so defined feeling somewhat uncomfortable. Would that we return to such social conditions. And if we did, here’s our elite:

From those latest released figures, which are for 2013-14, we have found the 50 highest paying jobs for men and women in the country. Among the number of professions listed, medical specialists dominate the higher ranking for both sexes. For men, the highest paid job is a neurosurgeon on $577,674, but for women it's a judge on $355,844. Here are the top 50 highest paying jobs for men and women in Australia.
