We've been here before.

Around 15 years ago an Israeli company known as Checkpoint Technologies
produced a firewall intended for corporate & government networks. Checkpoint
duly submitted it to the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) for E3-level
evaluation, however DSD's subsequent listing contained the qualification that
it must not be used in Australian Government departments without consultation.

Full E3 certification required software listings to be submitted, but my
enquiries revealed Checkpoint had declined to submit those associated with its
VPN implementation. It was widely believed the firewall contained a back door,
and Mossad engineers had a major hand in its design.

Of course Checkpoint hotly denied any such machinations, as you do.

One thing the Coalition overlooked when they redesigned the NBN was that NBN
Co. had complete control of the network terminating equipment and thus of its
security and performance. But now it comes from anywhere, much of it from
China, and voice implementations have all sorts of dial & ring tones, etc.
(echoes are a particular problem). Australia used to have one of the best
voice networks in the world. Sigh...
