If you followed the following

Then your production Linux/390 would be running under a 2nd or 3rd level (if LPAR) and I would sugguest that unless you have a very very large mip machine, you probably would not like the resources that those 2nd or 3rd level machines would be able to get. Just put the learning z/vm into it's own LPAR if you just must have one.
