I tried looking this up on developerworks...but I can not find the
Documentation 2.4 library on that page anymore...has it been moved?

I tried changing my redhat 7.2 network device yesterday from the built-in
MP3000 nic cards...to a bustech ns140 device. (fyi...I use the ns140 for 3
other os/390 lpars
and it's working fine)...

I modified /etc/chandev.conf to the bustech device numbers and cycled
redhat.

When I came up, the system still used the MP3000 nic cards for it's network
devices.
It did not use the new devices.

I noticed messages in /proc/chandev that said something like b06/b07
devices forced by chandev

And...I notice msgs indicating that the old nic card addresses were
auto-sensed by chandev???

How do I tell redhat to use what's in my chandev and to not auto-sense??

For some reason...it looks also like my new bustech devices are not being
detected by redhat?
Any ideas?
