I'm confused on where I need to place the CHANDEV
info in order to get an LCS/eth0 device to come active at boot time??
(this is RH 7.2)

Must this be included in my zipl -p parmfile (i.e. in bootmap) ???

Or do I just need it in my /etc/chandev.conf ???

And...can someone explain what each placement of
chandev is for? (i.e. what purpose does the one in zipl -p parmfile serve
versus the one in /etc/chandev).

Reason I ask...when I clone a system, I really don't want to have the chandev
hardcoded in my zipl (bootmap) ...right??

Still learning :)

Thanks,
Dave
