So you make your own DNS server that claims authority for the reverse lookup of a few hostst that you want and forward the remainder. We've done similar things when the powers that be not only failed to define the reverse lookup for DHCP pool addresses, but even misconfigured the DNS to point into limbo for the authorative DNS. This causes a delay in logon and such because the server tries to do the reverse lookup.
