Nilson, If you want to run Java, get 2.4.9-38. That, plus Java 1.3.1 SR3 is what you need: https://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/lxdk/lxdk-p
We have just completed certification of our WebLogic product for Red Hat, and that is the only environment that will work for WebLogic. The pages here will be updated within a day or so: http://commerce.bea.com/downloads/weblogic_mainframe.jsp Here is more information: http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/tested.html Jim Rich Post, Mark K wrote:
Nilson, I'm concerned about exactly what version of the kernel you have. First, there is no Red Hat 8.0 for S/390. That version is 7.2. The latest kernel level at ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.2/en/os/s390/images/ is 2.4.9-37, not 2.4.7-37. The latest kernel level in the updates directory is 2.4.9-38. IBM has OCO modules for those levels on their web site. If you use one of those kernel levels, though, they already have LCS support compiled in, so you won't need anything from IBM. Mark Post
