The Red Hat 7.2 is way old, at least from before IBM provided source for
the network drivers. Red Hat does not put the OCO drivers in their
distribution. There is a "second initrd" for Red Hat on DeveloperWorks
that you punch after the first one, and instructions are provided on how
to move these drivers into your installed system.

Since you already have a running SuSE system, you could use that one as
a stepping stone to telnet to your new system. You can even use iptables
on SuSE to do IP masquerading for the Red Hat system to reach its ftp
server if your network topology requires that.
