There is a fair amount of info on amanda.org, all of which applies to Amanda on zLinux. The sticky bit is the interaction between Linux and drive allocation from the host environment. Amanda is usually deployed on systems where you have the ability to dedicate a drive to a Linux system; not usually the case for mainframe-land.
