Again, this does not answer Ken's question (sorry, Ken), but neither do the recommendations to use SSH. Do we have an alternative when either end of the connection is in z/VM? One that is open and supported by both Linux vendors and IBM? I'd really love to see a native SSH client/server for z/VM. Until then, rexec it is. Making sure that the systems are sufficiently isolated network-wise to prevent password exposure makes it a little easier to swallow.
