Rob Kippers asked: > Is it also possible to do initial install of LINUX on separate LPAR using > CD on HMC, if so any info is much appreciated.
>From Steve Nichols, HMC Architect, IBM: -------------------------------------------------- Yes, it is possible to install Linux from the CD/DVD drive in the HMC. To do so, you use the "Single Object Operations" task on the HMC targetting the system (CPC) that you want to install on. When that window comes up, use the "Load from CD-ROM or Server" task targetting the specific Image (LPAR partition) to load Linux. There will probably be a README file on the Linux CD that gives more details on what to do from this point for your particular distribution. -------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by: Alan Altmark Sr. Software Engineer IBM z/VM Development ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
