It's *always* a problem. That's why it's not recommended. With the availability of good CD-based Linux systems that don't touch your hard disk, there's no reason to even try using a Windows-based FTP server. That's also why the SMB installation method exists. That said, it sounds like a step got missed somewhere in the install and that there is some missing or corrupt information in the boot process. I'd try the installation again using a recommended install method and see if your problem disappears (likely). > This time i do have SuSE license. Whom should i approach for support ? IBM > or SuSE ? Since it's a OS-specific problem, you probably will have the best results by dealing with the OS vendor. If you bought your support via IBM, then start there. Otherwise, go direct to SuSE. > Is it must to give the registration id for accessing SuSE email support ? If you expect to download fixes, you need a support id. -- db ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
