Understand that when SLES9 comes out this year, you will most probably be
eligible to upgrade at no additional cost to you.  SLES9 will be based on a
2.6 kernel which will have all the NPTL stuff built in (rather than bolted
on the side), and so you should see the same performance gains as with
RHEL3.

By the time we worked though some nuances specific to RHEL 3 (MQ and WAS
installation), our 30-day trial expired.  While this effort was going on,
upper management signed agreements with Novell for SLES 8.  Our hopes were
dashed.
