If we could get a skeleton ESM server, it would be a great project to interface VM with an arbitrary LDAP server, not just the specific RACF server. Our management is going toward ACTIVE DIRECTORY as the centralized although incomplete directory for email directory services. I am currently trying to use Neale Ferguson's LDAP package for OPENVM to extract email addresses from AD. This is for an extension of DIRMAINT where I send the password expiration warnings to the user's email address.
There is a simple SFS-ESM on the IBM VM Downloads website (WORF)? Is that an SFS only ESM or are the SFS calls funneled into the same ESM *RPI interfaces that logon/link are sent to? /Thomas Kern /301-903-2211 > -----Original Message----- > From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Rob van der Heij > Sent: Monday, September 20, 2004 11:52 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: Securing VM using LDAP? > > > > On Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:37:45 -0400, David Boyes > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > To do this, you'd need to write a ESM that talked to LDAP.
