> Does anyone have open source GREP and DIFF tools for CMS files? You've got two options:
You can probably build the GNU Grep and DiffUtils packages on OpenVM. They will be less effective outside of BFS space. You *may* be able to build them in traditional CMS, but I wonder what will happen with filename globbing there, since in POSIX globbing is handled by the shell. (I hate that! Most things in Unix/POSIX/Linux I really like, but not that. Shells should not glob.) Another thing would be to build work-alike stages in CMS Pipelines. > Man do I miss them when in CMS. Thanks. Yep. (And conversely, I miss XEDIT, REXX, and Pipes when not in CMS.) To this end, I wrote a MAKE for CMS using Pipes. It's not completely the same (I intentionally discarded the requirement for <TAB> in the rules file), but very handy. So I am sure that having GREP and DIFF would also be a huge help. -- R; ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
